Charging an Electric Plane: Octopus Energy and AeroVolt Team Up

Octopus Energy and AeroVolt have teamed up to make charging electric planes super easy. Now, pilots can charge their electric planes just like charging an electric car, with a simple tap of a card.

Octopus Electroverse, known for its easy-to-use electric vehicle (EV) charging platform, has partnered with AeroVolt to create the first-ever network for charging electric planes. This means pilots can use the Electroverse system to charge their planes at AeroVolt's charging stations across the country.

This collaboration is a big step forward in making electric transportation more popular. Electric planes, especially the small ones used for short flights, are better for the environment than planes powered by fossil fuels.

AeroVolt already has charging stations at seven airports in the UK, with plans for more soon. They're also talking to many other airports about installing charging stations.

For Octopus Energy customers who fly electric planes, there's an extra bonus: they can pay for their charging using the same bill they use for their home energy.

This partnership is part of Octopus Energy's efforts to promote sustainable transportation.

Zoisa North-Bond, CEO of Octopus Energy for Business, said, "Our skies are getting cleaner with every electric plane, and we're excited to make it easier for pilots to charge up. With just a tap, pilots can plug in and power up, marking the start of a big change in how we get around."

Guy Haydon, Chief Commercial Officer at AeroVolt, added, "We're on a mission to change the future of flight, and this partnership with Octopus is a big step forward. It's all about making charging easy for pilots, whether they're on wheels or wings."

Thanks to Octopus Energy and AeroVolt, the future of flying is looking greener than ever.
